INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT FOR LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM

The projects in this area mainly were in support of rehabilitation of the productive assets of the riverine farmers, integrated support to rural livelihoods and protection and support to vulnerable households in South Central Somalia.
These activities among others are;
(a) Rehabilitation of canals and river embankments,
(b) Employment Creation and Livelihood Support project in Lower Shabelle.
(c) Extension training, such as Training of Artisans and Supervision Services of Metallic Silos Fabrication Project, Training of Farmers and Canal Committees.
(d) Construction of new market centers and vocational training centers.
(e) Irrigation canals and water pans for both consumption and livestock support.
(f) Improving roads for accessibility to enhance the general economy.
